Summer, College/University Partial 40K + 60K scholarships for Dance BFA (prorated for 2 year conservatory). $750 scholarship for high school summer conservatory (can be used in NYC or LA) Partial tuition coverage.
These awards are granted to high school juniors and seniors displaying advanced technical execution, artistic interpretation, and overall presentation in their dance auditions. AMDA will also award $750 scholarships to select dancers ages 13-18 for our High School Summer Conservatory. *Receiving a scholarship is contingent upon successfully completing all required audition and admissions requirements. Nominations are not considered official scholarships. All admissions requirements must be successfully satisfied, and all nominees be officially accepted to AMDA in order to receive a scholarship. This scholarship nomination will not be considered in addition to any other previously awarded AMDA scholarships. AMDA will honor the highest scholarship awarded. The Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance provides a physically rigorous course of study that prepares pre-professional dancers for career opportunities in commercial, theatrical and concert dance performance. Students may focus their training on areas of specialization by selecting courses across a broad range of styles including Contemporary, Commercial Jazz, Ballet, Hip-hop, Modern, Theatre Dance, Partnering, Floorwork, Tumbling, World Dance and Street Dance Fusion styles. By working with some of the industry’s most sought-after choreographers, dancers learn to blend precise technical choreography with interpretive storytelling, enhancing their ability to meet the demands of a competitive industry. Additional courses in content creation, acting, choreography, dance for camera, vocal performance and improvisation cultivate skills that broaden students’ casting and employment opportunities within the performing arts. In the final year, students are presented to industry representatives through a robust outline of courses that focus on career preparation, audition techniques and online marketing media tools. The BFA in Dance program culminates in a capstone production of solo and ensemble works for stage and screen.

SUMMER INTENSIVE INFORMATION
Brenau Summer Dance Intensive is three weeks of rigorous dance training for dancers ages 15-22 occuring June 3-21, 2024. The program will focus on Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary technique supplemented by Ballroom, Variations, Pas de Deux, Yoga, Pilates, Men’s Class, Pointe, West African Dance, Nutrition for Dancers, and Repertory.
During the three weeks, dancers will rehearse repertory and new works by established and emerging local and regional professional dance artists to be performed in a showcase at the John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts on Brenau’s Historic Campus in Gainesville, Georgia, in the afternoon of Friday, June 21, 2024.

Summer Intensive Tuition Partial Scholarships and University Tuition Partial Scholarships are available. The amount of scholarship varies, and for summer is up to half of tuition for the program. For Tuition Scholarship, students must major in dance, have applied and been accepted to Coker University and have completed the FAFSA and sent copies to Coker University.
The Dance Program at Coker offers a BA in Dance, BA in Dance Education with K-12 Cert and a BFA in Dance with an emphasis on Choreography. The program has contemporary dance focus and offers courses in modern/contemporary, jazz, Afro based techniques, hip-hop, composition, improvisation, ballet, dance conditioning, etc.

The dance talent scholarships range from $1,000 to $20,000 per year and are awarded in addition to any other merit scholarship for which the student qualifies. Students are responsible for the balance of tuition and fees, room and board, books, and supplies. Dance scholarships are renewed automatically each year provided students maintain full-time enrollment as a dance major in good academic standing for a total of four academic years. The BFA dance program maintains a 4-year graduation rate of above 90%.
