Colin_ShaneThe Theatre Department at The Governor’s School for The Arts is designed for the student to develop a strong understanding of the theatre drama art form. The department encompasses studies in all facets of acting, with emphasis in theatre performance and theatre design/technology. Theatre Performance focuses on theatre technique and playwriting. The design/technological studies include state-of-the-art instruction in stage lighting, costumes, scenic design, sound design, stage projection and stage management. The program is designed to prepare students for college and beyond with professional careers in all areas of theatre performance art.
